SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications are a change from variable to stronc southerly winds, generally, in a short time, when the barometer is espocted to rise everywhere. Unsettled and cloudy, with heavy showers probable generally, and colder weather following in the north. The barometer has continued low in the south, but a centre of low pressure, with an apparent minimum of :i!l.2(i inches has passed through-Coo!; Strait about noon today. Heavy rain has fallen about these parts, liain is also reported in the northcm and southernmost districts. Westerly winds predominate, strong to gale, in parts, but the winds have been very variable.
