OTAKI
A large iron buoy was found last week on tho Otaki beach near tho WMtohu River, having evidently been washed from its mooring somewhere up or down tho coast. Mr. Forbes Rollo,' son of Mr. A. IT. Rollo, loft on Friday for Sydney to join his mother and sister. Mr. Rollo, sen., will follow, at a later date. Among tiro visitors to tho town ou Sunday _ were fivo University students, who delivered lectures hero after the conclusion of the church services. A largo number of people assembled to listen. Mr. H. Bear, who has been on a visit to England and the oversea countries, has returned to Reikorangi. ne reports a most pleasant and profitable trip. The Roman Catholic bazaar has had a very successful run for eight days, during which time practically all tho articles on sale wcro disposed of. Euchre tournaments ore Incoming common, and almost weekly the Druids Hall lias ljeeii patronised by loams representing various organisations,' sports' bodies, etc. Tho last match played hero was one between some twenty players from Rahui. and a liko number from tho local Druids' Lodge. The former proved winners by a narrow margin. A cricket match is now being arranged between the two teams. A movement is on foot to secure another hajf dozen subscribers to the local telephone service, with a view to bringing about an extension of hours. °
