MR. ESCOTT'S MEETINGS. Mr. Escott had good meetings at Whetukura and Uatuma. Receptions were good and votes of thanks rcccivcd. At Oinakwe, Mr. C. Kairn occupied the chair. There was a good attendance, and a vote of thanks and confidence, proposed by Messrs. G. llell and Williams, was carried. At Elsthorpe on Thursday, Yr. Hyan was in the chair. This was the largest political meeting ever held there. Mr. Escott had a splendid hearing, and the applause was frequent. A vote of thanks and coniideucc, proposed by Messrs. 0. Mr. Newman, candidate for liangitikei, lolloued up Ins election campaign bv addressing two successful meetings—at Rata on Wednesday night, and at Silverhope last evening (says the "Advocato" ot rriday). .Mr. Newman addressed largo audiences. It was a stormy night for his Rata meeting, otherwise his attendanco would have been larger. .Mr. ,T. F. M'Dona'd presided. Ihe candidate received a unanimous voto of-thanks. At the Silverhope meeting the attendance included a large number of ladies, and Mr. R. Aidworth was in fho chair. Mr. Swainson proposed a voto of thonks and confidence, which was carried without a dissentient voice.' Mr. Newman speaks at Bunnvthorpo to-night.
