REHEARING COMING ON. In the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, Mr. T. M. Wiiford asked leave to mention the ease of the Elingamite wreck. It wns very important to Captain Atwood, he said, that an early date should be fixed for the rehearing as soon as the assessors had been appoinlod. Could the case come on this year? The Chief Justice replied that ho saw no reason why it should not. Mr. Wiiford said that ho understood that it was to bo heard before a Judeo and two assessors. His Honour said that he expected the Judgos back in Wellington early in December, and one of thorn would probably tako tho cose. It could be mentioned in Chambers again this morning.
