KENNEL CLUB.
A VERY NUMEROUS ENTRY. TOTAL BEACHES 1250. The annual show of tho Wanganui Ivcnnel Club, which is being held in conjunction with the A. and P. Show is one of the biggest gatherings of the kind ever held in New Zealand. The total entries numbered 1250, but this does ntt of course, indicate the number of des as some are entered in more than ono class. The judges had a very busy timo m the ring to-day, and there is still work to be done. T ,- l i n J ll w-& a<: !f cockor spaniel class C. ludosfs Milford Joe got first in New Zea-and-bred dogs, and first and special for best in the show. In the open' dogs the same breeder's Milford Grey was awarded first in IVew Zealand-brod bitches, and first and special in open bitches as well r.s first in brood bitches Tho braco and team honours' a.so fell to Mr. Rhodes, Mrs. \v J. Condor's "Lady Soult" got first ami special in limit bitches and pupnv bitches and the same owner's "Lord'Soult" gained' a first and a second. C. White's "Tut" was first in the notive bitches and maiden bitches, and got .a special prize for best in tho novice class. In cocker spaniels other than black, C. E. Aldndge got first in colonial-bred dogs and open dogs. Colonial-bred limit and oiieii bitches all fell to Mr Richmond's "Hilo Blue Bell." O. Moriin* and Mrs. E. King carried off all tho first! in black field spaniels. Pointers mustered stronglv. Percy H Smith was the most successful exhibitor with nine firsts and two snecials J Boherr.y also doing well with *hvc fir«t>" and Mr. Smith also securing four firsts' and a special. In English setters, D. Wells was awarded first and challenge In open Mrs. H. B. Walker carried off three firsts.
Mrs. A. Dean carried all before her in fawn pugs, and in Mack H K Chamberlain, Mrs. J. H. White, and J." It. Foster were the most successful exhibitors.
■Bulldogs were fairly strongly representert, •].•. h. Watxui ligting the majority of the prizes. G. M. Turroll was awarded three seconds.
A particularly largo entry of collies was tuaile. \\. JI. Timoweil secured eight firsts, and D. Jlunro five firsts in the rpugh-coatod clftss. The smooth-coated class lvas very thin. H. F. Arkwright and Miss Daisy Cuthcrborlson divided tho honours in all-bcardod or old English classes. n

The report of the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, Ltd., for the year t-o Juno 30,. 1911, rlatos that tho profit and loss account, including £1942 brought from the previous year's accounts, shows, earnings of £30,207, from which must L'O deducted depreciation and debenture interest, amounting to £12.9',4, leaving a balance of .£25.262, of which there bean applied in payment of one year's dividend on the cumulative preference shares at tho rate of 6 per cent, per annum, £4tfo, leaving £20,762.. Out of this sum the directors recommend a dividend of 6 por cent., free of income-tax, on .the ordinary shares, which will absorb £13,c(0, transferring to reserve account. JEECCO (raising it ta £33,CC0), and carrying forward £2262. Markets on the whole have ruled at a fairly satisfactory level, and the outr ptit from tho producing countries steadily oipands.
NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING. The report of tho Sew Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd., for the yoar ended Juno k> states that the directors recommend a dividend of 10s. per share for the year, free of Income-tax, of which ss. per sharo was paid on April 7. They also recommend a bonus of 2s. 6d. per spare free of in-come-tax, carrjiuj forward £16,036.
