FOR MEMBERS OF RIFLE CLUBS. Tlio Suburbs Iliflo Club, through Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P., lias boon moving the powers that l:o with regard to the scarcity of rides on sain to club-members. In reply to further communications on the subject, the Prime- Minister (Sir J. G. Ward), in his official capacity us Defence Minister, states that in continuation of his letter of October 20, re arms and equipment for Defence Tiille Clubs, he regretted that the sale of Lee-Mctford ritlos to the clubs, which was suspended temporarily some little time back, could not ho permitted till the arming and equipping of the Territorial forces, now proceeding, was completed, or further supplies on order come to hand. A limited number of Loo-Metford rifles nre in store, nml can bo issued to members of rifle clubs on payment, if desired, but it would bo recognised, ho said, that the equipping of the Territorials must be Riven first consideration, so that trainins might bo commenced as early as possible.
