TRAMWAY DISPUTE.
FULL SETTLEMENT VERY PROBABLE
A general meeting of the members of the Tramways Union was held in tho club-room at New town yesterday for tho purpose of considering the terms recommended by the Conciliation Council as tho basis of ii new working agreement. The meeting lasted from 10.30 a.m. until 1.40 p.m., and the draft of the proposed new agreement was considered and discussed in detail. The union eventually decided to ratify the provisional arrangement entered into by its assessors, save in respect of a ic\y minor details, which will bo further discussed when the assessors for the union and the City Council meet again before tho Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. Hnlly) to-day or to-morrow. Broadly, the position now is that the Tramways Union and the accredited representatives of the City Council have agreed in regard to tho principal features of a new agreement.
