SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

Celebrations in conncction with the forty-third anniversary of the Webb Street Primitive Methodist Sunday School wore brought to a conclusion on Wednesday evening. A tea, which was largely attended, was held at 6 o'clock, and was followed by the annual meeting, over which Mr. W. S. Potter presided. Mr. AV. uray, M.A., principal of the "Wellington «"!r? College, gave an address on i « *° the work of the Church School more effective.'' ho Sveerotiiry of the Sunday School (Mr. E. Dawson) presented the annual repori, which stated that good work had been done, and the school had been graded during the year. There were 211 pupils on the roll. The average attendance was 150, while the teaching staff numbered 22. A musical programme appropriate to the occasion was rendered, the soloists being Miss 0. Henderson and Mr. P. Cutlorth. Mr. E. Dawson was the concluctor, Miss D. Johnston organist. and-Miss ii. hnelling pianist. Advantage was taken of the occasion to /■«? to the superintendent (Mr. E. Xewham), on behalf of the teaching staff. Mr. S. G. Hoare made tho presentation, and referred to the manv services which Mr. Newharn had rendered to the church during the past six years.
