GIRL JUMPS FROM A TRAIN.
« A PATHETIC NOTE. (By Tolecraph.—Press Association.) Gore, November 8. At the inquest 011 Elizabeth Gibson, aged 20, found dead on tho railway lino near Pukerau, on Monday night, u verdict was returned that she jumped from tho train when in a state of mental distress. The evidence, disclosed tho fact that the girl's father and mother bad been drinking, and that they werp under the influence' of liquor on the train. The following (pathetic note was written in pencil oil the fly-leaf of a novel or magassino found in the Rirl's pocket:— "Good-bye all. I am heartbroken. Forgive me for doing this, but I hope that this will let my mother know what a curse drink is.—Lill." A postscript added: "God help my sisters and brother."
