COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.

Tho elections for the Hutt County Council woro held yesterday. For the Epiini Riding Mr. Maurice White Welch had previously been declared elected unopposed, and Mr. John Wakeham had been in liko manner elected for tho Wainui-o-mala Riding. Tho polling for tho various ridings resulted as follows:— Mungaroa. John Whiteman HG Thomas Edwardes , 152 Charles Trenton Price 59 This return, which does not include tho voting at Akatarnwa and Kaitoko, wakes it certain that the sitting nieniLxa's, Messrs. Edwardea and Whiteinan, will bo returned. Horokiwi. William Galloway 107 James Pcarco „ S9 Whareroa. William James Howell 131 Arthur Ivor Mackey Stt Hospital Board. Tko Hospital Board elections in Vc Iluit County resulted in favour of uio sitting; member: William Galloway 227 James Peareo „ 173 MAKAKA. As a result of tho liakara County elections, four of the sitting councillors wero elected, and Messrs. 1 , . 11. Hawkins (Makara riding), and P. Bryant (Porirua riding), were replaced by new candidates, in. the- persons of Jfeyrs. Monachal! (Makara riding) and A. J. Taylor (i'orirua riding). Tlio polling figures are as follow :—Makara riding: H. J. Monaghan, 40; G. Monk, 38; Samuel Bowler, l' 8; F. F. H. Hawkins, 2G. Messrs. Mouaghau and Monk were elected. Porirua riding: A. J. Taylor, 161; P. T. Moore, 150; P. H. Eastwood, 100; J. H. Haggerty, 100; F. Brynnt, 99; R. Bould, 77; A. D. Cole, 63; A. H. Mildenhall, 39; J. T. Gray, 30. Messrs. Nix defeated Mr. A. M. AYilkinsou. CARTERTON. Carterton, November 8. Messrs. T. V. Moore and Geo. Stevens wero elected councillors for Wairarapn South. For Belvedere Riding, Messrs. F. Court and R. G. Welch. Daloue-ld Riding, Messrs. Jas. Hodder and Welch tied. Mr. Welch, being tho dtting member, was elected on the casting vote.
