Mr. Sproul, Sydney agent of Oceanic Steamship Company, declares that the company has no intention of abandoning the proposed renewal of the Sydney-San Francisco service owing to the decision of the Union Company to extend the Wellington-San Francisco servico to Sydney. He knew some time ago that the Union Company were likely to take this step, but it would in no way affect his company. He stated definitely that his line would make the first sailing from San Rrancisco in May, or at the latest in June next year.
