IMPORTANT PACIFIC STEAMT CHANGE. IBv TelMrr&DU.—Preaa Association.) Dunedin, November 4. Tho Union Steam Ship Company announce that tho servico between Wellington and San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Tahiti, will be extended to Australia next month, and will be maintained at 28 days' intervals by the Aorangi and Maitai in the meantime, with the Tahiti, which was lately purchased. The Tahiti is due at Sydney about November 23 from Plymouth, and will inaugurate the extension service on December 9 from Sydney via Wellington, Rarotonga, and Tahiti, to San Francisco. The Maitai, leaving San Francisco on November 15, proceeds through to Sydney from Wellington on December 8. She is to be followed by tho Aorangi four weeks later. The present steamers are to call only at Sydney, but there is a probability," later on, that they will proceed from Wellington to Melbourne direct, returning thence via Sydney.
