GARTON SEED EXHIBIT.
The Garton exhibit, which- is being shown by Messrs. Hodder and Tolley, sole district agents, . Feilding, Palmerston North, and_ Marion, is a comprehensive collection of farm seeds. These are very nicely arranged and ticketed in a handsome show case. "Gartons" has now become a household name in the agricultural worlcjj- Garton Bros, having been pioneers in improving the strains of agricultural seeds. A well-known professor of agriculture has recently stated that the difference between a crop grown from well-bred selected seed and that grown from the poor bulk varieties, so often sold, may be so great that the difference would more than pay the entire rent or interest charges on a farm. Everything that Gartons sell is guaranteed, and all their seeds are purebred pedigree seeds. In connection with Gartons' improved broad-leaf "Essex Rape," which is now being sold largely this season throughout Now Zealand, the following testimonial from Mr. J. Matheson, the well-known Ivairanga farmer, is of interest .—"This season," writes Mr. Matheson, "I tried half cwt. Gartons and half cwt. of another leading brand; same conditions as to time, sowing, soil, and manures. Gartons gave me a decidedly better crop, much more than repaying the slightly h'ffl'er cost of tho seed." Various samples of Gartons' seeds are shown in Messrs. Hodder and Tolley's stall, growing, demonstrating in a marked degree the high percentage of germination, and also the vigorous growth. An important feature in connection with theso seeds is that all 9UI stocks are dostroyod, and fresh seeds imported each year. Farmers and others interested should not. miss the opporhinjty of inspecting a very instructive exhibit. Gartons' principal agents in the island are: Messrs. llodder and Tolley, Ltd., Manawatu district; Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association, Hawke's Bav; Young, Holls and Co., Ltd.. Taranaki; 11. Perry and Co., Wairarapa. 4
