Out of 23 women drawn for service in King's County. 22 pave an oxcuso, and tho only ono who forvrd declared that fdie did so berauso she needed the pay which jurors receive. After .serving one day jhe also demanded io be excused because she did not like bein«r locked in the name room with eleven men wlulc considering the vrirdict. The released her from duty, and made an order rectifying* this complaint. The jury rooms of Taeoma aro being curtainedl ofl into two parts, one for man and the other fur woman jurors. In several other cities onrh sex is given a difforent room, ami niftn jurors nro permitted to enter tho women's ajxartmeut to discuss the joint verdict only on the invitation of the latter. In a caso tried at (xellingham six man members of tho jury insisted on ono verdict anil tho six women on another. Neither side would give way, necessitating ii retrial. On the other hand, four women who sat on a grand jury in Purco County agreed entirely >nth their eight nnlo colleagues-
