SUICIDE OF AN M.P.

a By Telerraph-Pross Association—Copyright (Eec. October 25, 11.15 p.m.) London, October 25. Dr. A. P. Hillier, Unionist M.P. for the Hitchin Division of North Hertfordshire, has committed suicido by cutting his throat. He had been suffering from business worries. Mr. Hillier was born in ISSS, and was educated at King William College and at tho Edinburgh and Cape Universities. Ho practised for some years at East London, in Capo Colony, served in the Kaffir War, 1878-9, as a trooper, and was president of the South African Medical Congress in 1893. Ho was imprisoned at Pretoria in connection with tho Jajneson Raid. At one timo ho was secretary of the National Association for the Prevention of Consumption. Ho was elected to Parliament in January, 1910.
