A BIG CATTLE GATHERING. . Tho exhibition of cattle which is to bo made nt the Carterton P. and A. Society's Show next week should appdal to farmers gonerally, and particularly to dairy farmers. The entries are stated to be far in excess of those at any previous show in the Wairarana. There will be a good competition between both local and outside breeders all'through tho Shorthorn classes.. In.dairy cattlo the show is expected by the promoters to equal, if not surpass, anything over seen in tho North Island. The Ayrshires provide tho largest number of individual breeders, and the competition will bo of the keenest. As tho championships of the North Island are to be decided, thero is no doubt visitors will have the opportunity of seeing Ayrshires ns near perfect as it is possible to produce. The special Kile promoted by the Ayrshire Herd Book Assooiation tikes place on tho first show day, so those in search of sires or additions to their herds should not fail to take this opportunity of securing something serviceable and Sheep exhibits will provide greater variety than usual, and a* additional breeders to those usually competing are visiting tho Wairarapa with stock this year, the section should provide a keen interest, for the exhibitors is well as the visiting public. Tho show of produce will' again be a very large oue.

' Chick-rearing is not only profitable, but a pleasure, when you feed "A. and P." Chick Raiser. It is a complete and properly-blended food for Young Chicks. Obtainable from all storekeepers.—Advt,
