WELLINGTON CITY EMPOWERING BILL. STRONG OPPOSITION. THE RIGHT TO CHARGE FOR ADMISSION. The House met at 2.30 p.m. Mr. J. T. HOGAN (Wanganui) asked the Minister for Railways to consider tho advisability of sotting up another Railway Committee. The present committco had been sitting for four weeks considering 'the petition from tho Railway Officers' Institute. It still' had to deal with the petition sent in by the second division, with a;x petitions sent in by local bodies which desired to bo relieved of liability in connection with the Hutt Railway and, Road Improvement Amendment Bill, and with other petitions. It was quite impossible that the committee should deal with this volume of business before tho ond of the session. The Hon. J. A. MILLAR said ho did not think it would bo advisable to set •up another committee at this late stage in the session. The best way would be .for tho existing committee to do what it could with the petitions before it. Thoso not dealt with this session would havo to be dealt with next session. MR.
