CITY RESERVES AND SPORT.
NEW SCALE OF CHARGES, Various matters concerning the city reserves and sporting bodies came before the Reserves Committee of the City Council yesterday. The question of the rental of the sheds, which is regarded by somo as a complicated subject, was ouo of the matters. A deputation from tho Cricket Association asked for a reduction in the rents charged for the rooms used by them at the Basin Reserve, and, also, if the committee would meet tlicm by reducing the amount owing as rental for those rooms. Extra water supplv was aske.d for to keep the 'ground in order. These matters are receiving consideration. The question of charges for the winter snorts came up again. New scales havo been drawn up, and will be submitted to the council.
