EX-SHAH'S BROTHER LEAVES FOR EUROPE. Rj Telegraph—Prcß3 Association—CoDyrighl Teheran, October 9. The Government - forces have occupied Hamadan, on , which. Salar-ed-Dowleh, brother of the ex-Shah, retreated after the defeat of the rebels' forces at Nauboraus.
Twelve hours afterwards Salar-ed-Dowleh disbanded his troops and left for Europe, via Bagdad, declaring that he would return in the spring with a better military equipment.
SIGNIFICANT RUSSIAN ACTION. (Bee. October 11, 0.35 a.m.) Teheran, October 10. Tho Russian Consulate officials, with twelve .Cossacks, threatened to fire on the gendarmes sent at tho instance of Mr. Shuster, Treasurer-General, to seize tho property of Shua-es-Sultaneh, the exShah's brother, who is aiding his revolt. Tho gendarmes withdrew.
The above message is significant, in view of recent assertions tliat Russia was aiding the ex-Shah in his raid on Persia. The ' Vossische Zoitung" recently asserted that not only did the Russian Government know of tho preparations of tho exShah to return to Persia, but that it obtained from him a formal treaty, in virtue of which, should tho ex-Shah succeed in his enterprise, he was to code to Russia tho Persian shore of tho Caspian and the cities of Enzeli, Rcsht, Astrabad, <ind two others, and permit Russia to occupy the province of Azcrbaidjan "until ordet is restored."
