THE ARBITRATION ACT.
ACTION OP CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. At the'last meeting of the council of tho Wellington Chamber of Commerce, certain suggested amendments to The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act were proposed, and chambors of commerce 1 throughout the colony asked for their support. The chambers at Auckland, Cliristchurch, Dunedin, Napier, Timaru, Stratford, Thames, Marlboroueh, Ekctahnna, Hastings, and InvorcaTgill have signified their concurrence and tendered thoir support. The resolutions read: That it is desirable that Tho Indostrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1008, be amended this session to provide: (1) For notice to bq given by sufficient advertisement or personally to employers or employees in any industry in connection with which any application is made for registration of any industrial association or union. (2) That an opportunity should bo given for employers or employees in any such industry to oppose tho registration of such proposed industrial association or union. (3) That there should bo a right of appeal from tho decision of the Registrar upon such matters to tho Arbitration Court
