ST. MARK'S CHOIR.

The annual concert in aid of St. Mark's Choir funds was held in the schoolroom, Sussex Square, on Thursday evening. "The Walrus-and tho Carpenter" (Zuineto) was creditably staged, and created great amusement, Tenniel's design in tho name parts being well reproduced. A pianoforte solo, Chopin's Waltz in A flat, was played by Miss Christie. Mr. Outrecl sang the "Dream of Paradise" (Gray). The choir were well prepared, and in good voice, and were very successful in the glees. The full choir's best effort was "Tho Nights" (Chaloner), which was sung really well. They also gave Lobe's "Slum-; ber Song" and Tho Mother's Lamentation." "Tho Patriot" (Lloyd), and "They Kissed, I saw them do it" (Wallace), for men's voices, wero well rendered, tho latter being repeated after a strong demand. "Tho Night at .Sea" (Thompson) for ladies' voices, with its soft humming introduction, was : also a feature, while the boys, in "Merrily Sings tho Lark"' (Dobson), were recalled. The "Toy Symphony" (liomberg) ended tho programme, x'his item was followed with much interest, and it was given with good musical effect under the baton of Mr. Laurence Watkins. Sir. Frank 'Ainsden played the nccompaninients. In the "Toy Symphony" the choir 'were assisted by Miss E. Mack (lirst violin) and Mr. (second violin). - ''*" "■'■ '-
