LAND AGENT'S COMMISSION.
AN INTERESTING JUDGMENT. (By Telccrapn.—Press Association.) Hastings, October 6. A judgment clearly defining when a land agent has earned his commission was given by the magistrate, Mr. M'Carthy, at the court this morning, in tho case of Cassidy (land agent) v. Masters, claim .£25 for commission on iho sale of property. Tho magistrate said where an agent is instructed to goII property at a certain price and the agent procures a purchaser ait that price whom tho vendor accepts, and a binding contract eale is enteral into between the vendor and the purchaser, who sign the contract, then, in the absence of special terms of employment, or of misconduct or misrepresentation on tho part of the agent, tho latter is entitled to commission, even although tho purchaser afterwards refuses to complete. Judgment was given for plaintiff tor .£25 and cos-fa Bs.
