MAYOR'S PROMISE TO HATAITAI.
KEEP IT OR BREAK ITP Somo months ago a deputation of residents of Hataitai and Kilbirnia waited on Hie City Council in respect to better means of access for vehicular traffic. The Mayor, in reply, promised to nieot tho request of tho deputation by having a 6urycy of tho suggested ronto made. Since then nothing has been done in tho matter, and, at a recent meeting of tho Hataitai Ratepayers' Association, some speakers expressed themselves in terms of indignation at tho manner in which they had been treated. It was eventually decided to form a committee to wait upou tho Mayor, and request that his promise of a survey of the route proposed should be given effect to.
