The Mayor, in reply, promised to nieot tho request of tho deputation by having a 6urycy of tho suggested ronto made. Since then nothing has been done in tho matter, and, at a recent meeting of tho Hataitai Ratepayers' Association, some speakers expressed themselves in terms of indignation at tho manner in which they had been treated. It was eventually decided to form a committee to wait upou tho Mayor, and request that his promise of a survey of the route proposed should be given effect to.
