NEW SOUTH WALES MINISTER'S VIEWS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, October 5. Mr. Flowers, vice-president of the Executive Council, told tho deputation from the racing associations which waited upon him yestorday that ho would prefer tho totalisator to the bookmakers, if convinced that the change would limit gambling and give the public a better run for their money. . He expressed surprise at the statement that two and a half per centum deduction from tho totalisator' receipta would yield over tho half a million required for tho maintenance of tho ■ hospital. Tho gambling turnover must be torrible. He considered it positively scandalous that women should bo allowed to bot.
