Henderson wns olcctod president and Mr. C. E. Daniell vicfr-prosident. Mr. Donald Donald was appointed to represent the Chamber at the meeting of tho Chambers which is to bo held in London in Jnno next to form an Imperial Council ot Commerce. A resolution was passed approving of the Taupo Company's scheme for opening op tho Lake Taupo _ district by rail. Tlio question of tho desirability of amending tne law to provide that no private arrangements should bo made without a Judge of tho Supreme Court was discussed at some lengxh, and was eventually referred to the council. It was deciacd to protest against the alteration of the name of Kuripuni railway star fcion to Purakan. A committee wos eot up to confer the Wellington Acclimatisation Society on the question of retaining tho fish hatcheries in Masterton. A resolution was passed approving of tne construction of tho Napier-Gisbome railway from tho Napier end.
