THE ELECTORATES.
" NEW BOUNDARIES, COMMISSIONS' FINAL REVISIONSOME INTERESTING CHANGES. The final Teport of fhc two Rcprescnta> tion Commissions' has now reached tho Covormneni, and through the courtesy \.i t'ha Prime Minister an abstract of the principal aMorationts, as compared with the original report, is available for publication. Tho most interesting change in tho North Island is perhaps that of tho reversal of the decision to transfer tho borough of Te Awha from the Tauranga electorate to the Oliinemuri. This moans that tho three Iron's at Te Awha. which woi\> threatened with extinction, through being placed in the No-license district of Oliinemuri, aro "s-aved." This is rcgai-d-Ml as very important to Die tourist traffic, upon which To Awha largely depends for its prosperity, Katikali, with its one 'hotel, is also to be retained in Tauranga, instead of being added to Oliinemuri. Another alteration of more than local interest is that by virtue of which tho township of l'ukekohe, the headquarters of Mr. Masscy's electoTato of Franklia and which was to have !:cen included in the new electorate oi Raglan, will bo retained .in Franklin. Tho name of the Mauawaiu olociartite • is to be altered to Rangilikci, and tho present Hangitikei electorate will be called Wahnarino. Gonvillo and Castlcoliff. will romnin :n Wangauui, and the whole of Foilding will be in Oroua.' Tho v;hole of Stratford County will remain- in Stratford electorate. Thero aro also changes in the boundaries of Hutt and other districts. . ■ ■ : Tho Commissioners did not hear objectors in person, but they considered a quantity of correspondence. Below will bo found a precis of the most interesting requests that were made, and the decisions reached. The maps and mo-re detailed descriptions will probably bo avail, afcao to-day.
