Business at tho Blair and Allen Streets markets during tho early part of the week was very dull, owing!to the, cold and wintry weather, but the past few. davs have shown a great, improvement.' Locallygrown hothouso cucumbers-sold at 4d. to 7d; :each, and F-rcnch beans Is. 3d. to Is. Cd: per lb. New potatoes aro selling at 3d. to 4d. per lb. Tomatoes meet with good sale at Is. 9d. to 2s. per lb., and asparagns is in excellent request at Is. Gd. to 2s. 6d. per lib. bundle, are selling at Is. per,dozen bundlest--Cabbages are plentiful at 2s. Oii. to's?V,"per sack; cauliflowers realise 2s. to .55." per sack; swedes, Is.
