Da-lgety and Company (Palmerston North branch) report:—At our Itaum,ai sale this week a fair yarding of all class of ■ stock met with pood competition, rates showing a rise all round on recent sales. Hoggets and young cattle were keenly sought after. Following is the li.jt of prices:—Sheep: Medium wether hoggets, ICa. to lis.; ditto mixed hoggets, 10s. 9d., lis. 6d., to 12s. 6d.; good wether hog/gets, 13s. lCd.; -two-tooth wethers, 15s. Id. Oattie: Small yearling steers; 345., 375., £2, to £2 Is.;, good yearling steers, £3, £3 25., to £3 3s.;'yearling heifers; £2 12s. 6d.; empty cows and heifers, £3 55., £3 65., £3 lis. 6d., to £4; eighteen-months empty dairy heifere, £3 Bs., £3 55., £3 125., to £3 135.; rising two-year steers, £3 10s., £3 155., to £3 165.; springing heifers, £4 10g.; young bulls, £3 Is. to £4; rising threeyear steers, £4 6s. to £5 6s.

Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonvillo sale, held yesterday, as follows:—A heavy yarding of both bullocks and sheep came 'forward. There was a lar-e attendance of buyers, and everything sold readily at lato rates. Best bullocks; £10 12s. 6d. to £11; lighter, £9 17s. 6d. to £10 2s. £d.; extra prime heavy wethers, 245. 5d.; good wethers, 25.; lighter, 19s. 6d. to £1 os. 6d.; prime ewes, £1 os. 3d. t.o £1 os. 6(J.; good ewes, 19s. Bd. to 19s. lid.; nrirae sunn*? lamb, best, 153. to 15s. 6d.; lighter, 13s. 7d. to 14s. 6d.; aged ewes and lambs, lis. ADDINGTON STOCK RXLES. (By Telegraoh.—Press Association.) Chrlstchurch, September 20. At tho Addington livo stock market today there was only a small yarding, this being on account of the inclement weather. There was consequently a sharp ri-;3 in the valuo of beet, and fat lambs also sold better than was tho case last weak. The fat sheep market opened at an advance, but eased off to the rates of tho previous woek, and there was practically no change in store sheep value's, l'at pig 3 sold at a slight rise in prices, few stores being offered.

The yarding of store sheep showed a considerable decrease! in numbers, compared with recent • sale?, and few buyers were present. Wether 3 formed the chief part of the tntry, and included several oversea lines. There was a limited demand on account of the weather, and prices showed little or no change. Forward oversea, wethers made 15s. Id. to 15s. fid.: smaller, 12s. 3d.; small two-tooth halfbred wethers. 13s. 10d.; two-tooth threcquarterbred wethers, 15s. Bd. to 15s. IM.; halfbred wethers (passed), 15s. 6d.; aged ewes, with lambs. Bs. 2d., all counted. There were 57 now season's lambs penned, and of better quality than last week. They sold well, nnces ranging from 12s. 3d. to 14s. for smaller sorts and 15s. to 20s. 6d. for well-grown. There was a moderate yarding of fat sheep, these including a number of Southland lines. The market opened at an advance of 2s. per head, but dropped back to last- week's rates, and even lower at the end of the sale. Tho range of prices was:—Extra prime wethers, to 265.; prime, 20s. to 255.; others, 17s. lid. to 20s. 3d.; prime ewes. 17s. to 225. fid.; extra, to 295. fit!.; hoggets, 15s. 9d. to 17s. fid.; merino wethers. Ills, to 14s. 9d. The entry of fat cattle totalled • only 101, or. less than half of last week's supply. The bulk of the yarding was of fair quality, the proportion of cows being smaller than usual. There was, in consequcnce of tho short supply, a sharp rise in prices, beef in some instances being equal to fully 4Cs. per lt'Olb. Steers made £? 10s. to £12: extra, to £15 10s.; heifers, £6 to £11; extra,' to £12 55.; cows, £5 17s. 6d. to £8 55.; extra, to £12 l£s. A small yardinc of veal calves sold well, prices ranging from 4s. 6d. to 58s. A small yardin- of store cattlo included somo useful lots of two-year-olds, and for these and any other lots in good condition thero was a. fairly brisk demand. Fifteen and oiE.htcen-months sorts were passed at 495. Two-year steers passed at £4 7s. 6(J.; two-year heifers, £3 155.; dry cows, 3Cs. to £3 7s. 6d.; Only a few dairy cows cartao to hand, and chiefly moderate sorts. For the better sorts there was an active demand, prices ranging from £3 10s. to £8 17s. 6d.

There was a fair entry of fat pigs, and priccs improved, there being a keen demand. Choppers sold at 455. to £5; large hnconers, 60s. to 755.; smaller, 455. fid. to 555.. equal to 53d. to 6d. per lb.; la'£o porkers, 425. fid. to 4fis.i and'smaller i.s. to 4Cs„ equal to 6d. per lb. The only pen of store pigs offered failed to sell at auction, and a few weaners made ss. 9d. tolls.

At Bnrnside snler. 3495 sheep were yarded, -a fairly large yarding. composed of prime heavy wethers, with a largo percentage of medium and unfinished sheep.
