Cable advice received by the local agents of the F.-H.-S. steamer Nairnshire states that she continued her journey from Monte Video to Avonmotith yesterday. It will be remembered that tho vessl put in to Monte Video on September 18 with her tail-shaft broken. She was en route from Auckland to the Homo port.

AORAXGI FOR 'FRISCO TO-MORROW. Passengers are requested to note that the Union Company's steamer Aorangi will leavo the Queen's Wharf, Wellington, at 11 a.m. to-morrow, and anchor in the stream nrior to leaving for San Francisco, via way ports, during the afternoon. Third-class passengers must embark prior to 11 a.m., but first and sec-ond-class nasscn°-crs may, if they so desire, bo off to the. vessel by launch, which will leave the Queen's Wharf at 3.30 p.m. AH hold bacpapc must be alongside, the steamer by 10.30 a.m. on sailing day. The Aorangi is due to arrive at . San Francisco on October 12. ITLIMAROA ARRIVES. At 3.15 p.m. yesterday the Huddart-Par-kcr steamer Ulimaroa arrived at an anchorage in Wellington Harbour after a fairly lorn? passairo from Her officers state that the vessel experienced a strong southerly wind all tho way across, and this increased to a heavy galo when coming through Cook Strait. At the harbour entrance the Ulimaroa received some knocking about, but rodo tho gala well, and sustained no damage. Sho had a large deck cargo, and this was unaffected. A few minutes before 5 p.m. the vessel berthed at the Queen's Wharf No. 1 south to discharge 700 tons of Wellington cargo. Included in this was 3000 cases of fruit, mostly oranges and lemons. At 5 p.m. to-day tho Ulimaroa continues her journey to Melbourne, via southern ports.

The schooner Clyde is still at Wellington waiting for a. mate. Ono had been engaged at Lyttelton. and was to have come up in thei Monowai on Sunday last, but did not do so. Two overseas vessels left Port Chalmers for Australia yesterday. These were the Cape Ortega!, which sailed [of Newcastle,-, and the Waimuto. for Port Pirie. Both vessels load oil the other side for Home. The Shaw-Savill steamer Rangatira left Lyttelton for Newcastle last evening. Captain Drcwettc, of the Koromiko, was a passenger by the Tjlimaroa from Sydney yesterday afternoon. Ho is oil holiday ieavc, and has transferred the command of his vessel, now en route from Sydney and Newcastle for Fiji, to Captain F. W. SmithKaituna, s.s.. now discharging Newcastle coai at tho Bluff, will undergo survey after completing discharge at Oamaru and Timaru) An expected arrival in port from Greymouth to-day is the Ngnherc. The I'olierua is also due from the same port this morning. The To Anau passed Farewell Spit at 7 a.m. yesterday, and should make port during the early hours of the morning. If the weather is favourable, the Putiki will be taken off the Patent- Slip this morning, and the ferry steamer Cobar taken up. Tile Putiki is to leave Wellington for Timaru on Saturday. At. a late hour last night the Union Oompmy's Hauroto lcrt Lj-ttelton for Wollii'gton. She should arrive here tlite afternoon, and leaves for northern ports at 7 p.m. From Wellington the To Annit goes back to Westport to load coal for Dunedin. It has been derided to dispatch the Tlimitnngi from Lyttelton to the Chatham Islands at noon on Wednesday next.
