The fund bein" raised for the purpose of erecting a children's ward at the Palmerston Hospital will benefit (with Government subsidy) to the extent of .£l7O by the entertainment given by the 'Wellington Orphans Club at the Opera House on Saturday evening. Up to the present tho total amount of the fund (with Government subsidy) is JJI2OO.

A large search party was out yesterday looking for the missing settler from Stoncy Creek, Air. J. Bogun, but no traeo of the old man was found.

At tho Police Court to-day Robert lidwards was fined lis. and costs at the instance of tho Inspector of Awards on a charge of not keeping a proper wagss book.
