At a special meeting of the Westland Education Hoard, held at lfokitika last evening, the names of the ten applicants for (ho position of headmaster of (ha Jlokitika District High School (previously recommended to (ho Hokilikii School Committee, and which the latter referred back to (lie board, as only four names should have been submitted to comply willi the Act) were further considered. The applicants were reduced to four, and the names of Messrs. 1,. F. Delicrry (Cobden). 1!. IT. l.ow (Newtown), W. S. A uslin Otoeffon), and W. W.
