GREAT DECREASE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 14, 1.25 a.m.) Melbourne, September 13. The. decrease in crime is shown by tho following figures:—ln 1881 the arrests for assault per million of the population were- 2160, and last year 614; for larceny 3504, against 1330; and for other crimes a similar decrease.
