A sensation was caused at a political meeting at Edmonton, Alberta, by tho exhibition of a ballot box with a wire inserted so that on its withdrawal tho box could be opened without breaking tho seal. The Conservative candidate asserted that thirty similar boxes had been dispatched to various outlying districts. Tho member for Edmonton is Mr. Frank Oliver, Minister for th. Interior in the Canadian Cabinet, who was some timo ago repudiated by tho Liberal party at Edmonton. Addressing his constituents last week Mr. Oliver defied anyone to accuse hini of graft while an 'office-holder. Tho Minister, howcTer, refrained from explaining how he became possessed of money lodged to his credit at an Edmonton bank, nwl his supporters were stnted by the Press Association agent to be still hanging back.
