WILL NOT RETIRE IN FAVOUR OF ANYONE. (By Tclcgraph.-Special Correspondent.) Wangonui, September 11. Interviewed to-day as to his intention regarding tbo Wanganui seat at tho general election, Mr. J. T. Hogan gave an emphatic denial .to tho statement flint, ho had been approached with a view to retiring in favour of Sir J. Fimllay or the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie. Ho 'said that ho had'had no conversation on tho subject, either with tho Prime Minister or any member of tho Cabinet', and tho rutaour referred ta was absolutely without foundation. Asked if ho meant to contest the Wanganui seat ajain, Mr. Hogan replied: "Yes; against all comers."
