ATTACKING YOUNG LAMBS. Wild pigs are slated to. be cansing tho death of a number of young lambs in somo localities in tho Wairarapa . (says. the "Daily Times").- A senrrity of food drives the wild pig from his usual haunts itf the hills to .fields nearer civilisation. When roots' and other products of tho soil are not obtainable, ho looks round for something to appease his hunger, and tho young lamb has provided' that something. His -modus operandi is to watch for 'a new-born l-arnb, and before it has tho strength, to get ou to its legs, rush forward, chase the mother,away, and make A meal of the lamb.
