q (From Our Special Correspondent.) Palmerston N., September 2. The Manawatu Motor Cyclo Club held its annual meeting last liight, Mr. C. J. Reynolds presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report showed that' a successful year had _ been experienced and the balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of .£lO 12s. lid. The following officers were elected Patron, Mr. D. Buick, M.l\; prefr-idenl-, Mr. H. B. Tucker; vice-presidents, Dr. Putman ar % ' Messrs. H. G. Moore, H. F. Gibbons, ,i. Goring-Johnston, J. Bell, C. .T. Adams, J. B. Clarkson, and G. E. Trevor; captain, Mr. G. 'I'uckeT; secretary, Mr. E. Tucker; treasurer, Mr. A. Bowles; committee,. Messrs. Taylor, Passmore, O'Brien, Bell, Kerr, Pratt, Edwards, and Pegden, with power to add. it was decided to support the suggestion to appoint a central bo<ly to govern motor-cyclo clubs in tho Dominion. . „ ~ ~ The College Street Old Boys Football Club held its annual dinner at Dustin's, Ltd., last evening, Mr. W. Mundy presiding. The programme also included vocal and instrumental music, and a number of toasts were honoured. During the evening the trophies won during the season were presented, a gold medal going to P. S'hcerin as the most consistent player. Mr. Isaac, inspector of technical schools, has just concluded inspecting in this district and has Teturned to Wellington. Lieutenant Kells, of the Technical School Cadets, has been promoted to tho captaincy of All Saints' Cadet Corps. At a parade of tho former company last night complimentary reference was made to the good work done by that officer for' the Technical School Cadets. The annual elocutionary competitions in connection with the Palmerston Technical School are to be held on October 5 and G. The annual sports will be held during November.
