CHARGE OF MURDER.
MELBOURNE DOCTOR ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Prtess As6ociation— Copyright (Rec. August 30, 11 p.m.) Melbourne, August'3o. Dr. Peacock has beea arrested on a chargo of murdering a woman named Mary Davies. A young man named Poke alleges that Dr. Peacock performed a'n illegal operation, and that tho woman died from its effects. Peacock then disposed of the body, which cannot be found. The detectives raided Peacock's private hosm'tal, and found jewellery and portions of burnt clothing, which were identified as belonging to the missing woman.
