Tho Admiral refused to speak regarding tho strategic advantages of the Panama Canal, but emphasised its advantagesfrom tho point of view of the world's commerce. FAREWELL TO AMERICA. (Rec. August 31, 0.40 a.m.) New York, August 30. Admiral Togo has' failed homewards from America. Several American warships attended his departure. The President, Mr. Taft, sent a message expressing his good wishes.
