DEFYING TEE SPEAKER. By Teleirraph-Press Assbciation-Oopyrfeht Sydney, August 30. After Messrs. Perry, Wood, and Fitzpatrick had been removed from the Legislative- Assembly last night for defying Mr. Willis, tho new Speaker, and Messrs. Levy and Cohen had been warned, the Assembly calmed somewhat. Eventually both the privilege and dissent motions were moved by Mr. Cohen, but wero rejected, the former by 38 votes to 32, and the latter by 39 votes to 31. The privilege debate was cut short by the application of the closure. Pairs were asked for Mr. Wood and Mr. Fitzpatrick after their removal, but were refused. Messrs. Fitzpatrick and Levy declined the Speaker's nomination as DeputyChairman of Committees, Mr. Levy on the ground that ho had grave doubts as to the Speaker's position, and Mr. Fitzpatrick becanse ho declined to accept any honours from Mr. Willis. The debate on the Address-in-Reply was opened, and the House adjourned. (Rcc. August 31, 1.25 ( a.m.)
Sydney, August 30. The debate is proceeding in tho Assembly on Mr. Wade's no-coufidence motion on the Address-in-Rcply debate.
