(By Telcsraph.-Press Association.) Christchurch, August 29. Aelson College defeated Boys' High School to-day by 21 points to 13 after a' fast and open game. For the winners Bossolliuann (2), .Saxon, Richmond, and M'llroy scored Cries. Saxon also kicked a penalty goal, and converted three tries. SHIPPING MEN'S MATCH. On Saturday the annual football match between teams representing the. Union Steam Ship Company's Wellington branch and the combined shipping companies of this city vill be played at Seatoim. The Lmon Company have placed the tug Terawhiti at the disposal of the committee to convev player* and guests to Seatoun and back. Uoth sie'es have selected the strongest teams obtainable, and a good game is anticipated. ASSOCIATION. On., the Baiin Reserve, this afternoon Hearts A meet Hearts B, and' Union play i.M.G.A. on Duppa. Street ground. HOCKEY. Lady Islington and party will be present at the opening game of tho ladies' hockey championship, which commences on September 2 next at Day's Bay. Three hundred ladies aro taking part, and teams will be represented from all parts of New Zealand. There will bo seven matches daily, and the championship matches will extend over tho week, during which time there will no doubt be some very exciting games. LAWN TENNIS.

The nnmial meeting of the Newtown Lawn Tennis Club was hold last evening. The annual report showed tho membership as 70, the receipts for Hip year as .£205 10s. 2d., and the expenditure as .£2Ol Ms. 3d. The sum of <E77 10s.
