Tanner, who a canilidatc for the Wairarapa seat at the forthcoming general election, meets the Carterton electors shortly. On Saturday afternoon the visiting t'cliool football team from Wellington were tal;on for a drive to Mastcrton, and were there able to witness tho WairarapaManawatu match. The'annual ball of the Gladstono Football Club took place on Friday night. There was a large attendance.

Some 21 lads underwent, the test for Territorial purposes at Waikanao on Thursday, and at night fi more were put through at Jlar.akau. Tlicro was ono reject in each ease.
