FOREST FIRES.
NEWFOUNDLAND OUTBREAK. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright (Rec. August 2S, 1.5 a.m.) Vancouver, August 27. Advices from St. John's, Newfoundland, state that an immense forest fire is threatening the paper pulp mills in tho Exploits River district. The workmen employed at tho Harmsworth mills aro out fire-fighting. A huge area of country is threatened. The wind veered later, and saved tho pulp mills at Bishop's Falls, oil tho Exploits River, hut enormous destruction has been dona to tho forest wealth.
