NEW SOUTH WALES CRISIS.
SEVERE PRESS COMMENT. By Telegraph—Press Associntion-Oopyrleht Sydney, August 25. The "Sydney Morning Herald," commenting on tho sitting of the State Assembly, says:— "Yesterday's proceedings reveal that Parliament as a representative institution has sunk to quite pitiful levels of humiliation. Instead of representing tho political minds of the people, it represented nothing but its own vulgarity. When it lacked sparkle, comic vulgarity supplied grotesque pabulum for abuse. Tho indictment involves both sides equally. No ray of honest purpose illuminated tho dull builtsque. Members laughed at the Speaker, cross-talked, made offensive statements, and then withdrew them tongue in cheek. Tho wholo day was devoted to the inglorious pastime of degrading Parliament. Tho Government had better ask for an immediate -dissolution." A PAIR FOR MR. MEEHAN. - ' Sydney., August 25. It is understood that a pair has been supplied for Mr. Meohan, who will probably be incapacitated for several months by his accident yesterday. This will enable the Government to proceed with a majority of one.
