QUEENSLAND STRIKES.
WATERSIDE WORKERS' DISPUTES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Bee, August 25, 9.50 p.m.) Brisbane, August 25. The waterside workers' strike at Mao kay has been settled, and work has been resumed. The Adelaide Shipping Company has agreed that tho non-unionist workers' hours shall fco limited to fortyoight weekly, and that lreo labourers and unionists shall 1m kept apart, and that ns \hs free labourers leavo their places shall bo filled by unionists. Tho men employed on the wharves' at Townsville hare ceased work owing to tho shippers persisting- in employing a number of free labourers.- Four steamers have been held up.
