CENSURE MOTION LAUGHED OUT.' By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Sydney, August 23. The Labour Conference laughed out a motion that Messrs. Holman (ActingStato Premier) and Beeby (Minister for Education and Labour) be expelled from the movement. Speaking on the motion for censuring members who did not support the Referendum proposals, Mr. W. 11. Hughes (Federal' Attorney-General) and others failed to arouse enthusiasm. Mr. Holman, }n replying, attacked Mr. Hughes, and declared that threo matters out of the live in the 'Referendum proposals were not in the Labour platform, and were not binding on members of the party, ne contended that the State party was not bound to follow the FetTernl ia matters not in its platform. This statement was greeted with cheers. . ' After the conference, adjourned, Mr. Holman stated that the Govornment had every reason to be pleased at the attitude adopted.
