.Paper-bag cookery is'; to be introduced to Unit and Petonc people by Mrs. Glennen. The first' exhibition 'will be given, at St. Augustine's Hall. Potone, next Thursday evening, and the second at St. James's Hail, lower Uutt, on Friday evening. Admission in both cases will be free. A No-License demonstration will be held in St. Augustine's Hall, Petnne, shortly, iho speaker will l>o tho Rev J. A. Nott. At the Hutt Court yesterday morning, a first offender lor drunkenness was brought' before Air. G. A. Chapman, J.P. The police deposed that word was received from Silverslream on Monday nHifc about, accused, and a trap was hired" to convey him to the Hutt. The offender was convicted and ordered, to pay trap hire 10s., with an understanding that he left the district at once. At a special meeting of tho Lower Hutt Rorough Council held on Monday night, it was resolved to provide a means of access to Mr. Gosso's land at Bridge as suggested recently by the Compensation Court.
