Beamish beat Marsh in llio semi-final for the East of Englaud lawn tennis championship, 6—o, 7—5. ANNUAL REPORT OF XEWTOWN CLUB. The annual report of the .W.vwn Lawn Tennis Club states: —"Tho club membership during the season reached 79 —35 ladies and 14 men. At present thero are vacancies for three ladies and 15 in En. Tho sum of JC2OS 10s. 2d. represents the receipts, whilst the expenditure amounted to .£2Ol 14s. 3d., leaving a balance of =23 15s. lid. During the year the funds of tho club were considerably enlarged by the organising of a moonlight promenade concert and an art union, (ho former realising -£12 3s. 5d., and tho latter .£l4 lis. lid. The thanks of tho club are due to all those who were responsible for the success of these undertakings. The 1910 'Cinderella dances' resulted in tho sum of JE2S being Uauijed over to the club, duo in a great measure to tho untiring efforts of tho Ladies' Committee, to whom tho members aro deeply indebted. Tho pavilion was completed during the season, the sum of X 77 10s. 9d. (which included gas installation) being expended. The club competitions resulted as follow:—Championship single, Indies—Mrs. Nagle; men—R. H. Nagle. Handicap singles, ladies—Mrs. Nagle j men, 13. H. Low. Ladies' junior handicap singles—Miss B. Luke. Handicap doubles, ladies—Mrs. Nagle and Miss M. M'Lean; men—Messrs. R. 11. Naglo and IC. Luke. Combined handicap doubles—F. A. Morris and Miss V. Veitcli. The.second instalment of tho loan (,£5(1) has been paid, leaving .£2OO still to be reduced. Sir: F. B. Spusbury was elected to fill the office of lion, treasurer, rendered vacant by tho removal of Mr. L. S. Emeny to Sydney. Tho club desires to thank Mr. W. 11. P. Barber, Hon. C. M. I.ukc. Messrs. I'. Gradv, fen.. J. P. Luke, M.P., F. H. Muter, M. Eraser, T. H. Gill, and R. F. Lynch for donations; also Mrs. E. Y, Rcdward, Misses Christie, Rodward, L. Clark, M. M'Lean, L. Powell, L. dTinden, V. Veitcli, Carson. H. M. AVcbb, Watson, Messrs. E. Y. Redward, Lindsay, Rowley, Prince, and 11. L. Godber, for donating their lioiul interest. A now scheme of inter-club competitions inaugurated last season by tho AY.P.L.T.A., and at, a special poncr.il meeting- of tho club it avjis tlc<M(]o<l not to iOt tho compelilions.
