THE BUTTER MARKET.
STOKE SUPPLY ALMOST- DEPLETED. Supplies of butter in cool store through-; out the Dominion are rapidly coming to nil end, the total stock remaining ou August 15 being G52 boxes, made up as under:—Auckland, 258; Jfcw Plymouth, 1M; Patea, 90; Wellington, 128; Dunedm. 10: total, 652. .This is the smallest stock of butter the Dominion has carried for many years past, and is over 16,000 less than-was in hand this time last year, but the new season's make has been coming in during the jxist couple of weeks, ami from now on it will increase rapidly. Local snpplies have been supplemented to n certain extent by importations from Australia, but tli.o quantity brought in has not been grwit, and supplies have only been sent forward because of the tempting- price ruling oh this side.
