BATHURST APPLES IN CANADA
•\ccount sales have been' received by the Department of Agriculture for a shipment of 30(1 cases of apples from th? Bathurst Farm, shipped last April to Vancouver, says a Sydney paper. Refrigerated space -not being procurable, tho consignment was .s?nt as ordinary cargo, with the rfsult that there was a lc?s of 30 cases by damage in transit, Tho bal-. ance, however, sold well, realising from 11s. 3d. to Ms. 3d. per ca«, and averaging about 13s. The net result was thnt the shipment returned an avcra-ge of 6s. Id. per case on the trees for the whole 3M' cases sent. Thi« figure, of course, would have been appreciably bitter but for the dead'loss of 30 eases. As it is, the net price is much better than was obtained for shipments eent to London and Germany.
