STEAMER ON FIRE.
OFFICERS' NARROW ESCAPE. By Tclecraptf— Press Association—Copyright (Rcc. August 11, 11.55 p.m.) Sydney, August 11. While the collier Wallarah was lying in Catherine Hill Bay the chief officer, Mr. M'Connachie, and tho second officer, Mr. M'Guire, who were sleeping over a locker containing rockets, awakened to find the cabin full of flames. They managed to escape, but Mr. M'Ccnnachio was seriously injured, and Mr. M'Guiro badly scorched. An explosion, caused by the rockets, followed. The crew subdued tho fire, but the Wallarah is badly damaged amidships.
